What Are Parent Intensives?
Parent Intensives at TESS are immersive, multi-day experiences designed to support caregivers in reconnecting with themselves, deepening their understanding of trauma-informed parenting, and building meaningful community with others on similar journeys. These intensives offer a rare and intentional pause from the daily pressures of parenting, creating space for reflection, healing, and learning.
Whether you're facing burnout, seeking tools to navigate behavioral challenges, or simply longing for connection with others who understand your experience, a Parent Intensive provides the time, space, and guidance to restore your energy and strengthen your parenting foundation. Every detail—from the programming to the setting—is thoughtfully designed to offer comfort, insight, and hope.

OUR APPROACH
At Trauma Education and Support Services, our Parent Intensives are intentionally designed with a trauma-informed, experiential, and relational lens.
We understand that parenting children who have experienced trauma or emotional challenges can be both rewarding and deeply complex.
That’s why our intensives create a space where caregivers feel validated, supported, and equipped to grow.
Our approach balances educational content with reflective practices. Participants engage in meaningful dialogue, guided self-inquiry, somatic awareness, and connection-based exercises. We incorporate research-backed frameworks such as attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and mindfulness to help parents better understand their child’s nervous system—and their own.
Facilitated by licensed clinicians and trained parent coaches, the intensives are structured to promote peer connection while also allowing for personal time to decompress and reflect. We honor each participant’s pace and recognize the importance of emotional safety in learning and healing. Through this combination of support, skill-building, and self-care, parents leave our intensives reconnected to their purpose and empowered in their role.
